However the message finds Yseult, somewhere between minutes five and ten her voice, low and soft in keeping with the hour, answers. ]

[ Her hopes for this mission have never been high, not when it was first proposed and insisted on, nor during any previous brief check-in that to her pleasant surprise actually took place and did not involve his immediate capture and impending death. Even so, this is disappointing. And surely not on its own enough to motivate his message.

Clearly not. [ Venatori influence seems a given, from a Riftwatch perspective. If anything it's the competence that may be the worse news. ]

They don't trust me yet, regardless of their opinions on other matters. But it is a help, I think, that I've said very little to give them a sense of my opinions.
